Excited mayhem was the order of the day at Lawrence Trading Estate yesterday. Our three new 200HL tanks arrived in the morning on two low loading lorries all the way from Belgium. For any friends or relatives that were stuck in the traffic carnage at the Blackwall Tunnel first thing, it was nothing to do with Meantime !
The skilled rigging company set to work immediately at removing the existing 50HL tanks from the brewhall and by close of play the three tanks had been moved inside. Head Brewer, Steve Schmidt explained 'the arrival of these tanks in real terms means a net gain production opportunity of 300 plus kegs a week, that's 18,000 pints or close on 1 million pints per annum !'
After the riggers finish placing the tanks today, the welders can move in and hook these up to our existing brewing network.
Nick Miller, CEO is delighted with yesterday's work. He commented 'This is the continuation of the journey that Meantime set out on a number of years ago. This installation will enable our capacity to grow and help in us achieving our challenge to change the way people think about beer. This is the first extension of our capabilities within my tenure, as a company we look forward to full utilisation of this new resource.'
