|  Meantime

For the second year running, we’re back with a bang at Winterville, East London’s cooler, smaller little brother of the monstrous Winter Wonderland. For the first time, the Backyard Cinema crew have set up camp, and that’s where you’ll find us too. Not only is it the festivals only cinema, it is also the best bar on site (no seriously, you’ll see when you get there). They’ve created a cosy enchanted forest named ‘The Winter Night Garden’, which can only be accessed through a wardrobe then via a secret tunnel of trees.

Showcasing films for all tastes and including ‘proper’ Christmas films such as Love Actually and The Muppet Christmas Carol alongside family films from Frozen and Happy Feet, to cult Christmas classics such as Home Alone, Die Hard and Elf and even non-festive related screenings for the scrooges amongst us with a Jurassic Park & Jurassic World double bill. The bar area is free of course to go and enjoy and it’s the perfect spot to kick back on the sofas and beanbags and enjoy tasty high quality food plus our range of beers – London Lager, London Pale Ale and latest limited edition Winter Sun are all pouring.

Of course there’s bags of other stuff to do at Winterville too, including crazy golf, rides, ice skating, a spiegeltent with live entertainment and loads more. Find out more at Winterville.

Winter Dream at More London Riverside

You know that great spot on the riverside, overlooking Tower Bridge outside the Mayor’s office? That’s called More London, and this year there’s more reasons (aside to the amazing views and restaurants) to get down there. The whole space has been transformed into a Winter Dream – a special Christmas pop-up experience including a huge Christmas market and a nice big bar, complete with a cosy seat with your name on it. Winter Dream is brought to you by the same guys who put on the super popular ‘London Riviera’ pop up down there this summer, the bar is the perfect spot for festive after work drinks with you’re your pals, or a romantic rendezvous.

There’s live entertainment on every night including Christmas films being shown throughout the season every Monday and Tuesday nights at 18:00, including Miracle on 34th Street, Love Actually and Home Alone. Hit up the friendly Christmas jumper-clad bar staff and ask them for a nice big pint of Winter Sun. We’ve also got the London Lager and London Pale Ale pouring so there’s no excuses not to leg it down and get in the spirit. Find out more at twitter.com/winterdreamldn

Apres Bar

Close your eyes and imagine a lovely wooden alpine lodge complete with vintage ski’s and hunting style décor… plonked in to the heart of Canary Wharf. Apres Bar in Montgomery Square is the cosiest winter-themed bar you’ll find out East. Perfect for a cheeky after work pint or 2 with your pals – It’s buzzing on Thursday and Friday eve’s, but equally as nice during the day or at the weekend when stopping by on your way to the nearby Ice Rink. The lovely bar staff will be pouring pints of our London Lager, London Pale Ale, Yakima Red and seasonal beer Winter Sun to get you in the spirit. For more info click Apres Bar.

Little Feast

Bought to you by the guys from Feast, the street food festival, Little Feast in Shepherd’s Bush Yard next to Goldhawk Rd Tube Station is high on our list of winter events you should hoof it down to. The yard has been transformed in to a wintery Christmas hideaway, complete with wooden huts, fir trees, bark floors and ivy-covered pergolas, with banquette seating and heating to keep you nice and warm. The Cabin Bar is serving our London Lager and London Pale Ale alongside mulled wine of course, so there’s even more reason to make a night of it. At weekends during the day there’s live acoustic music, choirs and bands too, plus an 8 foot tall advent calendar which reveals a new food/drink offer each day in the run up to Christmas. There’s even a Dirty Santa’s Grotto.. for those of you who are in to that type of thing! For more info click Little Feast.
