FESTIVAL SEASON GETS BUSY…

Right so here goes…we’re smack bang in the middle of a spectacular festival season….the sun’s even shining now. So we’ve got the beer…have you got your ticket ? Here’s why you should be joining us at some point over the next few weekends….

Secret Garden Party

The first of the ‘Big 3’ for us in the next month is happening next weekend and is best described as the most ‘nuts’… in a good way. It’s probably easiest to paint the picture by listing a few of the antics for you, so here goes; think colosseums made from hay bales, 20,000 revellers in full costume – this year’s theme is The Gardeners Guide to the Galaxy. Cue 5,000 Darth Vader’s and the odd Buzz Lightyear – organised mud wrestling, a dance-off arena, giant fox statues and a floating stage on the lake. This year there is also a mermaid school. Yes really. Last year was the muddiest on record and whilst we came back exhausted and in need of a hot shower or five, if this year is even half as good it’ll be one of the best weekends we’ve ever had. Come and see us at the Beer Tank for a spot of ping pong and a few pints in the sunshine. Bring it on!

Standon Calling

Standon is like an old friend to us. We have a long history of VERY good times in this magical place and can’t wait to make more memories at the end of July. We’ve got the beer side of things covered, and will be bringing all your favourites plus a special appearance from our brand new seasonal summer ale, ‘Lucky Hop’. Aside to the beer, we’re also bringing along another first – Hop Wheels – our shiny new ‘tech truck’. Simply purchase a beer then step inside for a virtual brewery tour and other interactive features.

Following the trend for festivals that started in someone’s back garden, Standon does the whole big-but-still-small thing better than anyone else – the owners even open their personal swimming pool to festival goers who are keen for a dip! Fitting perhaps given the chosen theme this year is Legend of the Lost Seas. The line-up gets more impressive every year… we’ve got the likes of Suede, Jess Glynne, and Kelis to look forward to, plus The Hives, Everything Everything, Ghostpoet, Anna Calvi and DJ sets from Goldie and Theo Parish. Sea you thergghh m’hearties.

Wilderness

Last but most definitely not least in this stellar line-up is Wilderness. You have probably heard how amazing this festival is, so we’ll skip the spiel for now and say just one thing – get.a.ticket. Seriously, just get one. Put your feet up in the shade by the Beer Tank whilst enjoying a Brewery fresh Pale Ale, Lucky Hop or a Yakima Red. We’re also bringing along Hop Wheels so you can explore the brewery in all its glory right from the Wilderness field… yes, it’s a little trick we like to call ‘virtual reality’. If that wasn’t enough, we are hosting special talks and tastings all weekend at the Tank. Simply rock up, buy a beer and put your name down. That covers you for a seat at one of our talks and tastings on brewing, the Meantime story and beer styles.

Our trusty friends at Time Out are excited about “the leftfield line-up, gourmet grub and a distinctly boutique vibe: Wilderness could be the coolest UK music festival”. For those of you needing even MORE convincing (really?!) here goes; long-table banquets, the UK’s best street food, secret woodland parties, a pop-up spa and other escapist activities, theatre, performance, talks and debates, dance workshops, wild costume parties, and a croquet tournament. And breathe.
