Beerista.

We’re big coffee fans down here, so we’ve put our heads together with the coffee gurus over at Nude Coffee Roasters in Shoreditch to bring you something a little bit different. If you’re into your coffee and beer, this is the one for you…

We’ve brewed two beers – a punchy Espresso Coffee Porter and a lactose Cream Ale, ‘Cream Of The Crop’. They both taste pretty damn good on their own, but they’ve been brewed with the intention of mixing them together as you would coffee and milk to create something even better… a ‘Latt-ale’ if you like. You can ‘customise your pint’ in the same way you would a coffee, mixing the beers at varying ratios to mimic coffee serves such as an americano or flat White.

The two limited edition ‘Beerista’ beers launch on Monday October 23rd and will be available to enjoy at our Brewery Tasting Rooms in Greenwich (SE10 0AR), and at Nude’s Shoreditch Roastery (E1 6QR) until Sunday 29th October. You can also buy them in our Brewery Shop to take home, or from our website in 330ml bottles.

The first of the two Beerista beers is the Espresso Coffee Porter (9% ABV). This brew is an intense, complex porter balanced with beans sustainably sourced from Nude’s partner farm in El Salvador before being roasted at their Roastery in Shoreditch. The combination of dark malts works perfectly with the intense, rich coffee notes for sumptuous and complex flavours. In the same way as an espresso shot, this punchy porter can be enjoyed on its own for those looking to get their coffee fix, or blended with the ‘Cream of the Crop’ ale.

Next up, the Cream of The Crop (4% ABV) is the second of the Beerista duo. This rich and creamy beer was brewed with oats and lactose for a smooth flavour. The creaminess is offset by the subtle fruitiness of the hops – it’s smooth and rich with just a hint of fruit… think oranges and cream. It’s the ideal accompaniment to the Espresso Coffee Porter, and just like milk it can be added to determine the intensity and flavour of coffee.

There’s no rules to blending these two beers, just give it a go and see what takes your fancy! The Beerista menu itself will feature eight possible combinations of the new beers for you to try at the Nude Roastery pop up or here at the Brewery, including:

1. Single Espresso, 9.0% ABV = 1/3 pint Espresso Coffee Porter
2. Double Espresso, 9.0% ABV = 1/2 pint Espresso Coffee Porter
3. Steamer, 4.0% ABV = 2/3 pint Cream Of The Crop
4. Americano, 9.0% ABV = 2/3 pint Espresso Coffee Porter
5. Latt-ale, 5.6% ABV = 1/2 pint Cream Of The Crop + 1/3 pint Espresso Coffee Porter
6. Flat White, 7.3% ABV = 1/3 Cream Of The Crop + 2/3 Espresso Coffee Porter
